October 2001
Organic
meat and milk from animals is an issue that is of great interest to producers
and scientists in Greece, the UK, and many European countries. New legislation
is being brought in by the EU and consumers are increasingly demanding organic
products.
This
conference focuses on the organic produce from ruminants, and offers the
opportunity for scientists, farmers, retailers and legislators to debate and
discuss a whole range of topics ranging from markets and legislation to
production, the implications for farming systems and socio-economic structures,
health issues for both animals and humans and how scientists will be able to
meet the challenge of organic production.

Travel
Athens
is an easy venue to reach from most European cities, as well as being very
friendly and attractive. It is also excellent value for money. BSAS will be
arranging a travel package from the UK. This will include a Saturday night stay
to take advantage of cheaper airfares. Partners and families may wish to take
advantage of a late break at a time when the weather is often very pleasant.
